This is an actual statement made a number of years ago from a convicted UK deprogrammer in anticipation of making money from kidnapping and false imprisonment (see below). The person was an executive board member of FAIR, which subsequently became one of the groups to found FECRIS. Whilst the person who made this statement emigrated to Australia after his conviction, FAIR has never denounced his activities.

Une mission interministérielle de lutte contre les sectes a été créée par décret du 7 octobre 1 998. Elle s’est substituée à l’observatoire interministériel sur les sectes.
M. Alain Vivien, ancien ministre, a été nommé président de cette instance. Composée d’un conseil d’orientation réunissant des personnalités et d’un groupe opérationnel formé par les représentants des départements ministériels concernés par le phénomène sectaire, cette structure est notamment chargée de diffuser des informations sur les mouvements sectaires et de favoriser l’action coordonnée des administrations pour combattre les agissements néfastes de ceux-ci.
